ASRT touring theatre is committed to bringing high-quality, accessible, culturally relevant, low-or no-cost theatre-for-all directly to your venue. By prioritizing care and creativity both for our audiences and our company members, we strive to build community, imagination and resilience through the arts.
Values
Our shows should treat kids with respect and autonomy; not feel like school; and be physically, emotionally, culturally, and financially accessible.
Decisions are made, for our audiences, collaborators and company members, by asking the

Armadillo Alice
(Ideal for kindergarten through 2nd grade)
Runtime: 30 Minutes
In this adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, Alice dreams she’s an armadillo and wakes up with a
new appreciation for books and reading. Puppetry, music and audience participation bring this
story to life! Written and performed by Austin’s own Laura Freeman with some help from her
friends.

(Ideal for pre-K and up)
Run Time: 30 Minutes
Iris Saves the Land of Black and White is a puppet show that tells the story of a land ruled by a king who has banned all color. It’s up to Iris and the kids in the audience to bring back color to
the land! Written and performed by Austin’s own Laura Freeman with some help from her friends.

The classic fairy tale entirely en español! Watch two actors play the whole story until they get too tired and have to have the kids do it for them. Full of audience participation and lots of laughs.

Performed in English & Nahuatl - with the emphasis on teaching Nahuatl

A puppet show about the Indigenous origins of Day of the Dead performed in English & Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs. Xochimiquiztli (SHOW-chee-mee-KEEZ-tlee) draws from Aztec myth & tradition to tell the story of Malinalli, a young poet whose tragic love will take her on a journey into Mictlan, the Aztec Land of the Dead…
